Included in these pics is the restoration of the Ro.37 found by Italian troops in Afghanistan (four aircraft were actually found, one of which will be restored from surviving parts). | December 14, 2008 In his second entry to this year's Smoke Ring Buildoff, "The Doctor" Maurizio Di Terlizzi brings us his Hasegawa 1/48 Veltro, 91-4, 4o Stormo, in Sicily 1943. This entry includes detailed wing cannon bay, and engine (represented uncowled). Smoke rings were applied using Aztek dual action airbrush. |
| December 21, 2008 Another interesting entry, today the fourth Contest Entry comes from Ferdinando Paron with his Hasegawa 1/48 C.205V. The model was built using resin detail parts by Jaguar. The camouflage was applied using Gunze and Humbrol paints, free-handed sprayed using a Badger 100LG airbrush. All identification numbers were airbrushed using masking tape. The "Vespa Arrabbiata" badge and the "cloud" are hand painted. |
| Janurary 01, 2008 SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT GAVS MEMBERSHIP - ALI ANTICHE MAGAZINE GAVS is a historical society whose primary focus is the restoration of aircraft. Based in Rome, the organization has participated in large-scale aircraft restoration projects including the Fiat G.55 in Torino, the Nardi FN.305, SIAI S.79 and the SPAD VII in Rome. The society offers various publications and since 1983 has provided its members with a yearly subscription to the aviation magazine Ali Antiche. The magazine is published on a quarterly basis and is written in both English and Italian. The machine depicted can be found in "Regia Aeronautica Caccia And Assalto 1940-1943 Parte II" on page 39. Also, included is a photo of this machine shortly after its arrival in Egypt 1942.
