The last of the Classic Airframes CR.42s, the ICR.42 is the float plane variant of the Fiat CR.42 land based fighter.

As in the land based version, the kit comes with the same resin and PE parts (see Preview:
CA Fiat CR.42AS). What's different in this kit is the float plane sprues and additional struts. The instructions are well laid out and the decals supplied are for a single aircraft finished in Aluminum. Take note contact areas with water should be finished in flat black (ie., the underside floats, consult references).  Detail around the floats and struts is the usual high quality that we've come to expect from Classic Airframes. Also take note, because the ICR42 was a one-off prototype, its unlikely the aircraft was equipped with armament and so the machine-gun aperatures located above and behind the engine cowling could be closed.

I look forward to constructing this kit, weathered and  finished in Aluminum, the model promises to be a show stopper.

I'd like to thank Jules Bringuier and Classic Airframes for the review sample of this very interesting kit.   Highly Recommended.
