Vincent, Thanks for those OB's. Could you please tell me your source and the date those were for? I was very curious, a part of Crete was occupied by Italy, they did have troops there. I thought maybe I was missing something somewhere, kind of odd they would not have an airbase too. Have you ever se...

Were any Regia Aeronautica units ever stationed on Crete?
I have found Axis Order of Battle information showing Italian units deployed in Sicily, North Africa, Rhodes, etc., but I have not found any of these that ever showed any Italian units stationed in Crete. Does anyone have any knowledge of Italian units being stationed there? Thanks in advance Indian...

Vincent, Hey I appreciate what info you gave me! I was thinking those books you had would have had more OB info in them. Now that I have found someone that actually owns them it really helps me knowing what they have/don't have. As I said I have seen those books cited as references in other works I ...

How were joint German-Italian Air Operations Coordinated?
I posted this in another forum several weeks ago but no one seemed to have an answer. From time to time the Luftwaffe and Regia Aeronautica flew sorties in coordination with one another. How were these coordinated? I am wondering how they worked around the language barrier? Did bilingual pilots coor...

Thanks Vincent! I envy you! I have seen those cited as references but I have never had the pleasure of reading those. This really helps me in two ways, first you gave me an Order of Battle for a period I didnt have before, second I now know the specific info I am looking for is not in those particul...

Vincent, That is close to what I am looking for. If you are familiar with Michael Holm's website on the Luftwaffe www.ww2.dk you can do a search for each gruppe. At the bottom of each page is a link "flugzeugbestand und bewegungsmeldingen" to take you to another page that shows a chart showing the n...

Reinforcement/Replacement Aircraft To Sicily/North Africa
Greetings! I am looking for references that might list the numbers of aircraft sent to the Sicily/North African Theatre as reinforcements/replacements. I have found sources that list units sent/leaving the theatre, Orders of Battle at various periods showing units and strengths, and losses. However,...
