ANR Bf-109 G-14 Purple 1 Camo question.
Hello all. I'm almost ready to begin painting my ANR Bf-109 G-14 purple 1 of 1 sq., 1 Groupo Caccia. This is the often depicted aircraft with the fuselage over spray of the previous German marking. In Camouflage and Markings of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (D'Amico and Valentini) it is fou...

Re: Mc 200 photo interpretation
Thanks for all the information and photos. You guys are a great resource. two other aspects of this aircraft that make it interesting is how far aft the white fuselage band is, this is not the norm. Also how the unit insignia's placement on the white band differs between port and starboard sides. I ...

Re: Mc 200 photo interpretation
I forgot to mention the fact that the tail looks lighter than the fuselage, thus contrary to the idea of the wings being replacements.

Mc 200 photo interpretation
Hello all, I'm working on a 1/72 Flying Machines Macchi 200 with the markings of 364th Sq. 1942. There is a port side photo of this aircraft in Osprey's Aircraft of the Aces #34, Italian Aces of World War 2, page 7 This same machines appears in a starboard side view on page 34 of MMP Books Macchi C....

What about this
Pete57, First, in your original post you mentioend that the RS models Re2007 will be reissued. When and where? Second, I think this is very inteersting as I have just started the RS Re-2006 and was planning on the "yellow" paint sceme. My thought is this. I don't think if they are necessarily relate...

Looking for 1/72 Sword RE-2005 decals
Hello all, I had a bit of trouble with the decals from Sword's 1/72 Re-2005 and am in need of replacements. I got them on one side, but the other side got screwed up. It looks as if I need the Sword ones as the new RS model ones wont match. Also, it appears that the Sword kit is out of production, n...

airfix G.50
Craig,
I think the engine cowling is too long and too narrow, it throws the whole look of the plane off. The AML kits aren't cheap, and short run in nature, but I would go with one of them over the Airfix.

Question about Greys
Daniele, These are very interesting photos. You stated the Macchi colors are grey, does this mean that the brown/greey depicted in "Camouflage and markings of the ANR 1943-45" by D'Amico and Valentini is incorrect? How are you determining they are grey? Also, where can you purchse this book, I have ...

1/72. I added a few cockpit details, Had trouble with the canopy, my Eduard mask left all kinds of residue that I couldn't get off. Italian Kits decals which are nice but a bit translucent. Weathering may be a bit heavy but photos of these planes show them to be pretty worn. Thanks for looking Mike ...

masking question
What putty (?) did you use to mask the wings leading edge? I've been wondering how to do this and like your results.
Thanks
Mike

ANR Bf 109 K camouflage
Hello, My second question for the night. If anyone has the book Ali Straniere in Italia - Messerschmitt Bf.109 by Ali D'Italia, can you tell me if there are any profiles of the BF 109 K-4's used by 1 Gruppo Caccia, coded 3-14 and 3-15. If there are would it be possible for someone to post a picture ...
