Re: Fiat CR 32 6th Stormo fuselage code correct/incorrect?

I couldn't find a starboard side photo of 154-4 (4o Stormo). There are starboard side photos of 3-155 and 6-155 (4o Stormo) that show the Squadriglia codes (155) facing forward but interestingly there's a model of 154-5 in ADI #4 built by Enrico Leproni I believe, with a starboard side view and the ...

Re: please help with FIAT CR 32 silver wings colour scheme

The colors in the instructions for 410-8 are completely wrong, NC4 and VOS2 didn't appear in a Directive until the end of 1941. VOS2 is 34052 not 34062. I haven't looked at the photo but use the profile from Ali e Colori #7 for 410-8, the colors are GM3, VM3 and MM2, lower surfaces Grigio Mimetico: ...

Re: please help with FIAT CR 32 silver wings colour scheme

Stefano, CR.32s were finished in the early Serie Mimetica colors GM1, VM1, MM1.

Jean used GM3, Gunze H302 for VM and Mr. Kit for MM. Here's Jean's work:

Re: Mc 200 photo interpretation

Mike I tend to agree with your post especially since the starboard side photo is poor quality, you really need to discount it in favor of the port side photo. Aside from the starboard side photo, there aren't photos of heavily weathered C.200s although we're used to seeing oil and smoke stained side...

Re: Mc 200 photo interpretation

Hi Mike, Here's Jean's interpretation of 7-364 in 1/48: https://www.stormomagazine.com/ModelArticles/MC200/JeanBarby_4/MC200_JB_1a.html Below is an example of a C.202 with a wing replacement, note the different camouflage of the wing (of Macchi origin) and the Breda style camo of the fuselage and th...

Bellisimo! You're a master Paolo, the attention to detail is quiet amazing. Its seems like the folks in Italy have taken modeling to a different level.

Re: Macchi 202, fuselage structure length

I think you're way ahead on the curve on this one. When you're satisfied with the information you've gathered we should put together a short article to archive this work and I'm pretty sure modelers would appreciate the effort you put into this. Did you check the dimensions to the Italeri kit?

Re: Macchi 202, fuselage structure length

Very interesting work, so to sum up, the length of the main structural core assembly from the firewall to the rudder post is: 1) Stormo/Drawing/AeroDetail: 5201 mm 2) Ali D'Italia (Brioschi drawings): 5280 mm 3) Mike Driskill's work: 5240 mm Making the Hasegawa 1/72 C.202 fairly accurate wrt to your...

Re: Airbrushes, Paint, and smoke rings

On leading edges (the lip) of G.55s, C.202/205V and Bf.109s the demarcation line underneath the wing could be a hard edge (mask, use low tack tape such as Tamiya yellow masking tape or you'll get lift) or a soft edge (use newspaper and tape underneath).

Re: S.82 footage on Youtube

Thanks again Alex, that's an incredible video and it does look colorized (the give away is the red tones, the algorithm doesn't know what to interpret VOS2). Luce again, I'd love to go through their archives. The content is WWII, co-Belligerent and post-war and I agree its very interesting to see so...
