Try Michael Starmer's mix of 3 parts Humbrol 103 + 2 parts Humbrol 27, which looks fairly realistic to me. I have found his mixes to be pretty accurate. I googled Mr Starmer but could only find links to vehicle and AFV colours and nothing on aircraft? Is there a site where he lists aircraft colours...

The colour pictures Capitano posted look like the White band has a delibertly applied 'criss-cross' paint markings to reduce the high visability of the White band.

to me it looks like either the White band is coated in mud either by the wheels on landing or by the crew to help reduce it's high visability??

I know that the Littorio's Ro43s had 911, 912 and 913.
Who had 813?

I remember travelling in Italy in 1985 around Turin and seeing a number of WW2 propoganda paintings on farmhouse walls. They were all fairly damaged and not looked after.
Are there still some that are about? Are they in any way preserved or looked after as some sort of historical record?

Yes you are probably right! However, I don't know how accurate the tables are and if they are missing info of various planes (the R0.43 does not appear at all in any of the tables for example). reference 3; 3] Galvan, G. and François, P., Regia Aeronautica Colors and Camouflage Schemes, Eagle Press ...

Vince, Lovely photo (I have not seen that one before), I wonder what date it was taken?. Yes, the photo does seem to show that the top wing was White with Red stripes. Pity the tail of the aircraft can not be seen. Anyway, looks like I will have Red AND White stripes on the top wing along with Light...

Hi guys and again thanks for the information. The Ali D'Italia book no 12 on the Ro.43/44 only has colour profiles and a picture of a model in colour the rest of the photos are black and white. It is very hard to tell from the colour profiles if the lighter colour aircraft are supposed to be Silver ...

But what about the pre-war colours of the planes as in the Eithiopian war especially the naval aircraft which I believe were light grey and not the silver/natural dope/Ivory of the land based planes.
