Thanks Guy,
I haven't forgotten about the build, I just finished up a WW1 Halberstadt C.II and more time has opened up for me. I'll have postings of the engines very soon.

Kubrt,

I ran across your thread as I was researching for my build on the Internet. It was one of the builds that inspired me to begin my S.79. Most excellent work!

Mark, I have absolutely no doubt in your amazing abilities after reading through your other threads that you posted. Your M5 looks stunning and i recommend any of you Stormo regulars to go and have a look. You list as an ongoing project, a 111z? Do you have a link to this as i love the Zwiller and ...

I enlarged the new scale drawings from the Ali D'Italia book (#28) from 1/72 to 1/48 scale and used them to check the Trumpeter kit dimensions. The fuselage lays out very well with the doors and windows on the side and the window on the bottom lining up correctly................. http://i239.photobu...

Thanks Guy and Gregory. I'll be doing quite a bit of scratchbuilding for this build, I want it to be something a little different. I'll be modelling the engines "opened up". I think my biggest challenge will be to scratchbuild the exhaust collector rings. Here are a few of my build threads - http://...

Thanks for the replies everyone! I have the newest Ali D'Italia book on the SM.79 and (after some consideration) I think I'll go ahead and build the Trumpeter kit and use the scale drawings to correct any issues with the kit. It seems both kits are quite a lot of work and there aren't many builds of...

Hey Mark ,what only one wing. Welcome to Stormo my friend glad you've joined. Which ever kit you end up building no doubt in my mind it's going to be one excellent project. Have you seen some of the WWI item post to the gallery? Excellent works. Regards, Gregory Jouette Thanks for the warm welcome,...

This has been debated before so , i will sum-up the main problems: undersized tail surfaces (closer to 72nd than 48th!), engines coming from imagination, oversized guns, interior poor to say the least, and the list goes on; Of course it builts more easily than the CA, but if you want a close to the...

When you built the Trumpeter kit, what did you find as pros and cons of the kit?

Just one question: why did you take that crappy model instead of the less easy but more correct Ca one? Do not take this as a critiscism, but I already built 3 CA and sincerely the trumpy kit is......... Good luck with your work, regards, jean. :D :D Please feel free to enlighten me. Hopefully, I w...
