The style of unit codes is very distinctive. I'd like to portray 278-1 as seen in the Osprey torpedo-bomber book. Is there a source for unit code numbers?

I’m working on the Trumpeter S.79 and struggling to understand the dorsal hump. Photos and profiles vary, some showing the full hump, some showing only the front portion.
