1 32 scale Macchi 202

Just read on my Facebook page that someone is in the process of producing a Macchi 202 in 1 32 scale. Hope this is real and not a false alarm. Does anyone know if this is true?

It's Italeri who are releasing the kit.

I'm pretty excited about this one! Has anyone out there seen any "insider" info on the kit? I've seen nothing but Italeri's announcement so far.

I certainly hope that Italeri has done their homework, and fixed the accuracy issues in all other C.202 kits, and included a good amount of detail! In my dreams it includes options for early and late machines, and is followed by a C.205 Veltro, LOL...and maybe some re-tooled 1/72 kits!

I did see it mentioned on Facebook and they did mention an Italian hobby shop. I sent an email to them, but as of this time no answer. I have in the past built the two kits produced of this subject and each had its problems. Let's hope this new one will be better. I was thinking of converting it to the prototype.

I still don't see a release date...but the big C.202 has graduated to the cover of Italeri's current printed catalog, which hopefully is a good sign at least!
