The 1/72 Italeri Br20 kit gets a limited release from time to time, just like their Caproni Ca311/313/314 kits. It too is an old 1970's kit but makes into a nice model, albeit with a bit of extra work.

There was the Alphaflight 1/48 resin kit, which I'm fairly sure is unavailable now.

Check the gallery on this site for builds of both of these models, especially Jean Barby's 1/48 Br20M.

Just bought the Italeri 1/72 kit. The Alphaflight 1/48 kit is a whopping 189USD!!

The Italeri kit has raised panel lines, but looks to build into a great model. :)

I just ordered from Vince the BR 20 Ali di Italia book. After I finish with my current project: the Classic Airframes CR.32 I will tackle the BR.20. :D

Can't Wait!

Where did you find your Italeri kit?
I've searched here in the UK with no luck so far.

They sometimes get in obscure kits....I was looking for Supermodel 1/72 sm.81, but they didn't have it so I got the Italeri BR.20 and the SM.79 kits in 1/72.

Hey Mike,

This post is pretty old but I was at Venture Hobbies today. I live in the deep southwest suburbs. Not much in the way of Italian 1/48 but it did look like they had a few 1/72 Italian subjects on the shelf. I think their stock is down due to the economy, it's not the like the old days when they had virtually everything.

FYI...I would stay away from Al's Hobby, since it seems like since they enlarged the rc car stuff, plastic models have taken a back seat there. There were only a few kits left on the shelf, nothing I was interested in. I think I can safely say that I may never have to go Al's Hobby ever again.

hello! i have several of these in 1/72. well, more like 6. so if anyone is in need let me know. a fair deal. also i have the cmpr book on making it better. free copies! packardhead@earthlink.net. i'll have to go digging though so instant results might not be instant. but it is somewhere in the mountain.
