I want to highlight an interesting post by Ferdinando D'Amico on the site
www.150gct.it
Storia dell'aviazione
Fiat G55 Work in progress - 1
concerning the Fiat G55 wings insigna for the ANR 74/75/76 repainted airplanes; the post is in Italian, I briefly summuraze in English:
As it is possible to see by the attached photos the insigna applied in FIAT had the white background and had on both the wings the left blade positioned in hign on both the upper and lower wings; when the planes were repainted in 74/75/76 the insigna on the lower wings were all masked and the blades maintained the firm position; on the upper wings the insigna were painted correctly overspraying using masks; in this way all the stecils were overpainted and were no longer visible.
Hoping this can help and thanking D'Amico who always continues his researches
