concerning the Fiat G55 wings insigna for the ANR 74/75/76 repainted airplanes; the post is in Italian, I briefly summuraze in English:
As it is possible to see by the attached photos the insigna applied in FIAT had the white background and had on both the wings the left blade positioned in hign on both the upper and lower wings; when the planes were repainted in 74/75/76 the insigna on the lower wings were all masked and the blades maintained the firm position; on the upper wings the insigna were painted correctly overspraying using masks; in this way all the stecils were overpainted and were no longer visible.

Hi Rick i try translate last part (about fasces). Sources is AliDitalia No10, book about ANR from Sqadron and famous book The Camouflage & Markings of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana 1944-45 by Gabriele Valentini and Ferdinando D'Amico.

Thank you both for sharing this intersting discussion. Riccardo, what new or additional information has Ferdinando uncovered outside of his book ? I agree, we owe Ferdinando a great debt of gratitdue for his tireless research.

I do not know if the photos present in the post and used as proof are a new acquisition, however they are very interesting and my advice is to have a look to them

This is not a translation of the study but a brief conclusion.

G55 delivered directly from the factory should fasces with white background on the top and bottom of the wing.

G55 with experimetal (three colour camo) should fasces with white background on the top and bottom of the wing.

G55 in the German "RĽM" cover-up had fasces with white background at the bottom of the wing and on the top side "transparent" version.

According to pictures of yellow 5 (metropolitan camouflage) and the Fiat from factory, destroyed in the bombing, I think airplanes from the factory had only left option fasces. There are other photos where they are visible fasces at the bottom of the right wing with the left option. Also I have pictures of the blue 5 (in an experimental camouflage) are seen as the upper and lower surfaces with left option fasces. All Fiat where I seen with right and left fasces option are in experimental camouflage (yellow 8 and blue 11) and therefore believe that this is exception.

Maybe I am wrong but this is concluded from the available (for me) photos
