Superb interpretation of the camouflage. It looks just right and makes a welcome change from all those RAF schemes!

Hello Ricardo!
This is an excellent Hurricane. The paint scheme is marvelous!
Some weathering on the engine cover should made it better.
Congratulations

Weathering on Hurricane RA

Post by Rick » Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:28 am

I applied no weathering because tha aircraft was completely repainted when came to Italy and shortly afterwards was used in a propaganda film where the Italian insegna were canceled; so the aircraft with this camamouflage is represented at is arrival in Italy, and the relevant photos show it with no weathering

Hi
The background is the place where I live, near Florence, Italy. I used it even if the RA Hurricane was never here; the Florence airport, which i in this zone, was not important during the WW II.

Beautiful Hurricane Rick! Tell us a bit more about it. What colors did you use? Did you use the Classic Airframes kit?

Excellent job, Congratulations!

We are truly lucky to see so many masterpiece models here at Stormo.
Just build it!

The base is Giallo Mimetico (FS 33434)
36%XF59 + 36%XF3 + 7%XF64 + 21%XF2

Mottles of
Verde mimetico 3 (FS 34102)
80%XF5 + 20% XF62

and Bruno mimetico (FS 30215)
XF52

Lower surfaces
Grigio Azzurro chiaro (FS 36307)
XF19 darkened with XF27

All the references are to Tamiya acrilic colors
