Hi folks,

I'd like to present you my finished models of Regia Aeronautica and ANR planes. I used the excellent Stormo decals on my two C.202.

Unfortunately my site is not working properly with Internet Explorer...I really don't know why. Firefox and Chrome works fine with it.

The Re.2000 is a shame...but...it's a SMER

I have the SMER Re.2000 in an incomplete state. Its actually a pretty good kit for the cost (only $5.00 USD ) I stopped work on it after I wasn't staistfied with the canopy shape. Because the kit is a little larger than 1/48 I couldn't use the Classic Airframes vacuum form canopy. But I like the challenge of building the old SMER kits !

I really needed all my patience to finally finish that kit and I stopped working on it after every little step for some weeks.
I never used that much putty! ... unfortunately I had to use the SMER clear parts (or better: semi-clear parts;) ) so that's the weakest part and I am not happy at all with it.

But I agree - building cheap and somehow imperfect kits is certainly a challenge and gives you satisfaction when it's finally finished, even it takes months :)

yes agreed, its a semi-clear canopy lol

If you force a two part epoxy such as millput into the clear parts after first coating the inside with a releasing agent you get a mold . Now you can vac-u-form it to get a clear canopy.

Agreed, good suggestion, just replace the exisiting one with a vacuum formed one.

I don't know if the SMER is worth that effort...but I will give it a chance!
What a pity that the Classic Airframes "Falco" is not available anymore.

I hope there will be a decent Re.2000 in 1/48 soon. To me the Italeri Re.2002 kit looks like it could be easily adapted to a Re.2000 (I think about that fuselage hatch which has to be opened with a blade e.g....)
