To max3rd - I have used Hobby Dragon polishing sticks and GSI polishing compounds:
first step - rough sanding:

It would have been nice to be able to see the photos without the strip above. Personal opinion, but I think it is absurd, or wrong, to put photos in this way if you want to show your model.
