I just finished painting up the interior:
The paper on the table is a Google Maps image reduced in size, with the route from Brussels to Berlin....
For the instrument panel I used the kit's decal, but modified it with painted on instrument faces
Kind regards,
Peter
PS: the door in the fuselage has tiny hinges and can be opened and closed

And some more images of my Savoia Marchetti S.73.
The fuselage, wings and undercarriage have been put together and received a first coat of paint (Bianco Avorio). De cowlings have resin Gnome & Rhone K14 engines from Engines & Things.
A look at the underside. The exhausts are made of Evergreen tube with the ends drilled out in order to obtain a thinner edge.
The sheet I designed for this conversion, custom printed by Black Lion Decals. For the remainder I'll use Tauro sheet 72/529.
Some historic images of SABENA S.73s can be found here:

Dear all,
I have finalised my conversion of the Savoia SM.81 into the S.73 airliner. Made it just in time for the Dutch Nationals, where it won Bronze in the civil aviation category.
A look at the underside with the added ribs showing to good effect:
I also created a little ground base to display the model on:
Kind regards,
Peter

The 30's truly was the golden age of civil aviation and your model is an excellent representation of that bygone era. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sincerely, Blake

Peter,
A truly satisfying conversion, beautifully executed, with a lovely paint job and superb decals. What more could you ask for? As a lover of the S81 and thirties aviation in general, I would rate your model and diorama as exquisite!
Regards,
Aeroal.

Fantastic , What a beautiful job. What color or mix did you use? Some day I would like to do half as good a job on my conversion.

Since the model is largely a single colour, I used an enamel spray can from a local DIY (craft) store, which is very close to Humbrol H103 'cream'.
I hope this is of help.
