Ca.310 at Sola gets color - "woodland camouflage pattern"?

Caproni Ca.310 Libeccio Takes Shape in Norway.
Some nice pics here at Vintage Aviation news.
Also on Museum's Facebook page.

What is of particular interest is this approach to camouflage consisting of brown lines first, and then making green squiggles over them.

As stated in the article:
The rudder and wingtips have been painted with the Norwegian insignia of the period, and the woodland camouflage pattern applied by the Italians in Milan has been replicated.
First time I hear of this "woodland pattern" - was it a Caproni standard practise?

Hi Alex. The restorers are doing a nice job! So nice to see a restoration of a Ca.310 taking place in Norway. There was no Woodland camo scheme, possibly a misinterpretation of the "Continental" (green) scheme. The scheme they're trying to replicate is closest to chip CMPR C10 - perhaps the green lines they're applying could be a little softer as in the photos below and denser but overall quiet nice and I applaud the folks for their very hard work trying to bring this old bird back to life.

In the photos below you can see the presence of Bruno or Marrone Mimetico in all the photos (Caproni used both paints Bruno and Marrone). In some of the photos there is evidence that Bruno/Marrone may have been applied in the same manner as the restoration which is an interesting way to approach this scheme from a modeling perspective while in others bruno/marrone is applied in blotches sometimes filling-in the Giallo gap. Here's Luca Bossi's build of a Norwegian Ca.310 which is probably the best and most accurate build I've seen so far:

Ohh, now I see.
I thought CMPR C10 was just a variation of the C8 'poached egg' cammo

But it is clear there's a brown mesh beyond, slightly larger in scale than green one.
Even the blog post linked in article makes it pretty clear how they reconstructed it:

You're right Alex, the CMPR C-style camo chips don't apply here, rather a SCHEMA E - MIMETICHE PARTICULARE (Specific Camouflage Schemes) would be better a fit. I'll add an entry to the Stormo Color Guide that discusses this camouflage pattern and what the restorers are referring to as the "Woodland" scheme.
