I believe the background of the emblem is white (the wasp's wings cannot be seen over the emblem's background).

Notice the service writing: CARICO BENZINA in front of the personal emblem.

P.S. The wingtips have already been painted yellow, as per Axis regulations.

What do you think about wings of the wasp ?
Are they more white or the background is more gray ?
We can see a slight nuance on your superb picture.

I see on this (and other) close-up photos that the V.421 emblem's background is the same shade like the white cross.

There are photos other Hungarian Re.2000s where the emblem's background is clearly not white, i.e. light blue. But here this is not the case.

If you can post the photo published in the French magazine, where the background appears to be blue, that would be great.
