Orione in Verde Oliva Scuro2, but so far none of the 205V Veltro in a
similar scheme.
Was the 205V ever camuflaged in Verde Oliva Scuro Metropolitan scheme?Comments and/or pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks

In teh book of ANR camo is Macch 205 in "mixed" schema (LW and herringbone) number 5-3, only known Mc 205 (for me) in pure herringbone schema is 22-2 (source the same book). Metrepolitan schema had first prototype of Mc 205Stefano wrote:As far as we know, operational Veltros wore just three camo schemes: typical Macchi smoke rings of dark olive green over light hazelnut background (RA and early ANR), a herringbone stripes scheme of the same colours (just for a few by VI serie in ANR) and RLM 74/75/76 Luftwaffe scheme in ANR.
If you don't like smoke rings nor LW camo, I suggest you the newly-discovered herringbone scheme.

If I do not remember wrong there was only the fisrt prototype of 205 V with the camouflage in Verde Oliva scuro 2...In a recent book by Nicola Malizia about the Macchi fighter family, there is a picture of a cobelligerant 205, during the last months os 2° word war, that may seen repainted in an uniform color, like Verde Oliva Scuro. If you need, in the afternoon, I will see the book and tomorrow can be more precises...guglielminauk wrote:I am building a PCM Macchi 205V, but I would like a scheme different from the usual Smoke rings., I came across several pictures of the 205N
