macchi mc 202 folgore 88a squadriglia

Post by stefanuccio » Thu May 21, 2009 5:02 pm

hallo to all
one of the macchi 202 folgore hasegawa 1/48 scale kit has been on my building list for some time.
is the folgore of the 88a squadriglia no.9 aircraft which i think belonged to maresciallo gianlino giri baschirotto .
i do not have many references about this plane and i was hoping for some help about this project for example the colours is
nocciola chiaro 4 overall
verde oliva scuro 2 smoked rings
grigio azzuro chiaro 1 undersurfaces
verde anti-corrosione interiors and wheels well is this scheme correct?
are the smoked rings of the camouflage hard or soft edged?
unfortunately i have lost the instruction manual which complicate my task
even more
any suggestions
ciao a tutti
stefanuccio

The camouflage you mention is correct; a photo of the subject is published at page 20 of the booklet Ali d'Italia n°22; the spinner is white and according to ing. Brioschi, the author of the drawings of Ali d'Italia, the wheels well is of the same color of the underfaces ; in my opinion the edge of the rings is not very hard, but you have to look to photos to try to reproduce it correctly; considering that this is a plane produced by Aermacchi, as demonstrated by the ring camouflage, the internal frames of the windscreen and of the canopy are in black, see for instance photos page 58 of the same booklet .
Hoping this can help
