macchi 202/205 wheels well colour

Post by stefanuccio » Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:35 pm

hallo All
excuse my ignorance but why is it that the issue of wheels well painting colour is so controversial?
Is it grey or anti-corrosion green?
I am really puzzled about this issue i am building a macchi 202 from an hasegawa 1/48 kit the instructions tell it is grey! but when i look at other models photos the colour sometimes is grey sometimes is a.c.green
Are hasegawa instruction correct?
Can the aircraft in model form be authentically reproduced in grey?
which colour is correct?!
sorry for the amount of questions i like to model as much as possible close to reality
ciao a tutti
stefano

I was at Vigna Di Valle last month, and the 202 and 205 both had light green wheel wells and gear door interiors, though the 200 had grey. Hope this helps.

Is it the same grey that was used on the CR. 42 cockpit?
