Hi,
Just wanted to say hello from Cheshire UK. Found this place whilst searching for info on the 21st Century Machi 205, and a found all the info a great help.
I don't do Italian aircraft often, but my wife has picked the Italeri 1/72 CR42 in Luftwaffe service out of my stash. I've never done a biplane before, and the paint scheme looks a little daunting. But i'll try. I think she likes punishing me :D
Anyone built it, and tips?.
Thanks for a great, helpful site.
Regards.

Hello Rodders,
Welcome to the Forum.
A CR42 is an excellent plane to build, however, the paint schemes can be a little challenging.
I built one with a night fighter scheme, all black, but very nice looking.
You might want to perhaps start with a simple scheme like the night fighter one.
Here is an excellent article by Ettore Giordano's CR42 Night Hawk painted black.:

This might help you.
Enjoy.

Welcome to Stormo. Here's some info on the Italeri 1/72 CR.42 that Aleksandar built:

I'll be posting an article of this build in a short while however the forum details should help you correct any problems with this kit. Also have a look at Jean's 1/48 CR.42LW:

Have fun!
