Rosso corsa, verde corsa?

Post by Grahamb » Mon Sep 17, 2007 5:12 pm

Hi,

I know this may seem ridiculous but I cannot find a paint match for the Rosso Corsa as used on the SM 79 Corsa aircraft. In most photos it has a lighter tone than the Rosso Bandiera - I guess it is a brighter, more scarlet hue? Perhaps I should try and find a nearby racing Ferrari for a good look?

Also, the Verde stripe often looks darker than the tail stripe - was this another 'racing colour'?

Many thanks,

GrahamB

Hi Graham,
Good question. I think you can assume the same green, white and red were used as the national colors (Flag Red, Flag Green) :

Hi Vince,

I'm not convinced that the rosso corsa (a genuine colour) is the same as rosso bandiera but can't disagree with the greens.

I've just noticed that Humbrol (at least) produce a 'Ferrari Red' in their gloss range - I'll go with this I think, at least for the colour match. Plenty of car modellers out there should be on top of this one!

Kia ora

Graham
